PLANS for 50 homes on a site previously refused permission for a similar scheme have been approved – despite fears over future parking.
Bucks Council has permitted an application by Inland Homes for a new housing development on a patch of land to the rear of Glynswood, a residential area in High Wycombe.
The new development will be for 10 one-bed and 10 two-bed flats, three two-bed, 22 three-bed, and five four-bed houses – 50 units in total (48 per cent affordable) – accessed from the existing Glynswood cul-de-sac.

Around 96 parking spaces are also proposed, as is a public open space.
But ward councillor Arif Hussain warned the scheme would create an overflow of parking on Glynswood in the future – while also saying the development was an improvement on one refused in March last year, now the subject of an appeal.

He recommended the junction of Green Hill and Hughenden Road be improved to “handle the traffic”.
Cllr Tony Green also raised concerns about parking.
“There’s no doubt that this present application that we have in front of us offers us a better design and layout compared to what we had last time around,” said Cllr Hussain
“But if you look at the parking, I can tell you that Glynswood will have an overflow of parking in the future.
“At the moment, it is a nice, peaceful, small road – and I feel sorry for those residents who paid a huge amount of money…and now find themselves with 50 dwellings at the back of their properties.”

He added: “The junction of Green Hill and Hughenden Road should be improved to make sure that it can handle the traffic that comes out of there.”
Key differences between the old and new scheme include no three-storey developments (two storeys max), a 353sqm reduction in floorspace, additional green space, a greater proportion of smaller properties, and 43 per cent more trees.
A public Right of Way will also be “slightly re-aligned”.
