A 20-year-old man had a chunk of his nose bitten off when he was attacked at Beaconsfield Services in December.
The man was left needing emergency surgery following the savage attack at the entrance to the services at about 4.30am on Sunday, December 19.
He was with his friend when he was approached by another male who assaulted him and bit a chunk of his nose off.
A 20-year-old man from Beaconsfield has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and has been released under investigation.
Police think there may have been some sort of argument before the attack happened and want anyone who saw what happened to come forward and help their investigation.
Detective Constable Nathan Devlin said: “I am appealing to any witnesses to please come forward.
“It is believed there was a verbal altercation between the victim and his friend and the offender inside the services prior to the assault.
“If anyone saw or heard anything, or has any footage from the services around the time of the incident then please contact the police. You can call 101 or visit our website, quoting investigation reference 43210571163.

“The victim sustained a horrific injury, with a chunk of his nose bitten off. He required an emergency operation and may need further reconstructive surgery.”
