Parking near a vaccination centre in Hughenden has been suspended after residents complained of "traffic chaos" and grass verges being destroyed - but not everyone is happy.
A number of visitors to the Hughenden Valley vaccination centre at the GP surgery have been parking on Valley Road - a busy road linking the village to High Wycombe - while they pop into the surgery to get their Covid booster jabs.
But residents have been left upset by the parking, claiming drivers have been pulling up on the pavements, grass verges and zig-zag lines close to the zebra crossing nearby and urged the police and Buckinghamshire Council to take action to prevent an accident.
One resident said the paths had been turned into a "mud bath" because of drivers parking on it, leaving those with prams and wheelchairs to go into the busy road to get round.
Another said there had been an accident there in the past few weeks because of inconsiderate parking which was causing "traffic chaos".
Now, a parking suspension notice has appeared on Valley Road, preventing anyone from stopping between midnight on December 20 and midnight on December 28.
Drivers cannot load, stop or wait on the road between the Cryers Hill bus stop and the Coombe Lane bus stop.
While the move has left many thrilled, others are not so pleased. One told the Bucks Free Press on Saturday night: "I was in Hughenden Valley this evening and was surprised to see that off road parking at the Covid vaccination centre at Hughenden Valley Surgery has been suspended by the council.
"The busy centre at Hughenden Valley GP Surgery administers in excess of 1,000 booster vaccinations on a daily basis. It beggars belief that residents would complain about such a minor issue during a national emergency.
"It is even more surprising that the county council seems to agree with them. Perhaps some local residents and the council value their grass verges more than the lives and wellbeing of their fellow citizens."
