A new industrial site could be built on an “unused” field in High Wycombe.
Carington Estates Ltd in Bledlow has submitted to Bucks Council an outline planning application for twelve industrial units on land at Old Horns Lane in Booker.
The vacant 1.1-hectare site will also need a new vehicle access, as well as 65 parking spaces, according to a report.

The new “light” industry area will have an internal floorspace of 2,684 sqm.
A Transport Assessment estimates a total of 34 peak morning trips and 24 peak evening trips will be generated.
A public Right of Way cuts across the north of the site, and Booker Airfield is located immediately west. The site is part of the air park’s ‘wider strategic employment area’.

“There is an unmet need for new employment land within the area and the proposed scheme would make a contribution towards this unmet need,” a planning statement reads.
It adds: “Given the site’s location, granting outline planning permission for the erection of twelve light industrial units would be considered sustainable and in accordance with the adopted local and national policies.”
Lord Carrington was born to the aristocratic Carington family whose seat was at Wycombe Abbey from 1799 to 1896. He died in July 2018, aged 99.
The applicant is now awaiting a decision from Bucks Council.
