Police have been conducting patrols in Downley after an attempted burglary.

Officers have also been giving out advice to prevent burglary.

They advise you to close and lock all your doors when going out or going to bed, keep valuables out of sight, leave lights on or use timer switches when you’re out in the evenings.

Another safety tip officers have been telling residents it to not advertise on social media if they’re going away.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: "Following an attempted Burglary in Downley, PCSOs have been out conducting patrols and giving out burglary prevention advice.

"As the nights are drawing in we would recommend following safety tips to help keep your home safe."
