A forklift truck driver reportedly picked up a 4x4 vehicle and rammed it into a property before fleeing the scene hitting a number of cars during a police chase.

Thames Valley Police police confirmed the driver of the forklift was arrested and that he knows the owner of the property he crashed into.

The man was arrested after taking officers from Stokenchurch through New Road towards Handy Cross, and into the Turnpike Road area before being arrested on Oakridge Road yesterday evening.

A police spokesman said it caused "considerable damage" to a property on Eastwood Wycombe Road, Studley Green.

It is also believed that during this journey several cars were damaged by the forklift driver.

The police are now appealing for witnesses following the incident of criminal damage with intent to endanger life.

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Bruce Wilson, based at Aylesbury police station, said: “This was an incident that has caused extensive damage to a property and it is lucky that no one was hurt.

“Additionally we believe that a number of cars have been damaged as a result of this incident.

“A man has been arrested and remains in custody and our investigation is ongoing.

 “We can confirm that this was not a random incident and the owner of the house and the arrested man are known to each other.

“We are appealing for anyone with information to please come forward and would advise anyone who believes their vehicle has been damaged to please get in touch.

“Anyone with information can report online or by calling the non-emergency number 101.”
