Buckinghamshire council leader Martin Tett has paid tribute to his "beautiful" wife who sadly passed away today.
His wife Sue was diagnosed with terminal cancer and spent her final days at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
Cllr Martin Tett said, "no one could have asked for better care than she received there."
His post on social media read: "I am devastated that my beautiful wife, Sue, passed away today.
"She was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and spent her final week at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
"No one could have asked for better care than she received there.
"After 44 years together she was my rock and my life."

He also paid special mention to Ward 10 at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
He continued: "Thank you to everyone at Stoke Mandeville Ward 10 especially Emma and Roxane and their team who have been brilliant.
"So caring and supportive.
"We could not have coped without you."
Many have left messages of condolences and support to him and his family underneath the announcement.
