- Parents across Bucks are reporting problems retrieving their children’s 11 plus results online this afternoon - but the council vowed to resolve it in 24 hours.
- Many claim Bucks Council's website went down when "thousands" of parents logged in at 3.30pm.
- Some said the alleged system crash was "predictable" and "avoidable.”
- One parent with twins said she had “two stressed children”, as a result.
- Others reported problems accessing the council’s contact page, too, getting ‘forbidden’ notifications. Adding: “Epic fail.”
- “No parents can get 11 plus results for their kids at the appointed time because the Bucks Council system has (entirely predictably) overloaded. Infuriating,” one parent tweeted.
- “Well done @MATatBucks @buckscouncil,” wrote one person. “You didn’t think the 11 plus results page would crash with thousands of parents logging in at 3.30pm exactly?
- “What genius came up with that idea? And now we wait with a stressed child. Great.”
- They added: “It was so predictable and is so infuriating.”
- On Bucks Council's Twitter page, it replied: "We are aware of the technical issues on the Transfer Test results page and our digital team are working to resolve this as quickly as possible.
- "Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."
- “Not acceptable,” someone replied. “Have you considered the mental health implications? The children are stressed enough without this epic failure.”
- "Shockingly bad planning and execution of a very simple task," someone wrote.
- Cllr Anita Cranmer, Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Education and Children’s Services said: “We are extremely sorry that parents and young people are facing a delay in being able to access their Secondary Transfer Test results this evening. This is due to a technical issue and we are working very hard to get an urgent resolution.
- "We know how important this is for people waiting for their results and we are now working with colleagues across the council to ensure they can access the Transfer Test results within the next 24 hours. We aim to update families as soon as possible this evening about how and when the results will be made available.”
