With the devastating news of a huge fire at the Kings Hotel in Stokenchurch last night, we decided to look back into our archives and find some photos of the historic building in happier days.

This first photo is a view of the Old King's Arms with a coach drawn by four horses outside the front entrance, circa 1905:
This next photo was taken around 1920 and shows the old King's Arms with motor vehicles outside this time:
This photo is looking east and shows the Kings Arms hotel, as it was then known, circa 1930:
This photo is from 1909 and shows the Old King's Arms and the Old Well House with a factory building behind:
This photo is from around 1910 and shows the hotel and the adjacent areas to the west and south along Oxford Road:
