A High Wycombe man who stole £80-worth of steaks from M&S has avoided going to jail.

Daniel Andrews, 38, of Station Close, went to Marks and Spencer in High Wycombe on August 19 and left without paying for six steaks – valued at £82.72.

At Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on September 13, Andrews pleaded guilty to a charge of theft from a shop. He also admitted to failing to surrender to custody and committing a further offence while serving a suspended sentence order.

The court heard how Andrews committed this offence while he was serving a suspended sentence after he stole bottles of spirits and headphones valued at £200 from Sainsbury’s in March.

Despite his history of offending, Andrews managed to avoid going to jail.
