A woman was injured with what is believed to have been a knife when she opened her front door in High Wycombe.
The woman, in her twenties, answered the door in Windrush Drive at around 8pm on Sunday, September 26, but a woman grabbed her arm.
She managed to shut the door again, but she suffered a small cut on her arm which is believed to have been caused by a small knife.
Police think the attack could be linked to others that have taken place between September 17 and 26, where scrunched up letters were posted through the woman's door.
The attacker is described as an Asian woman, aged in her early twenties, with light brown eyes, a slit above her left eyebrow and fake eyelashes. She was wearing a black scarf covering her head, mouth and nose as well as black skinny jeans, a plain black t-shirt and black gloves.
Investigating officer, PC Daisy Tarrant, based at High Wycombe police station, said: “This was a frightening incident for the victim and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident to please come forward.
“We also believe that this assault could be linked to other incidents that have taken place between 17 and 26 September in which the victim has heard knocking on the door and has had scrunched up letters posted through her door.
“I’d urge anyone with information to please contact police by calling 101 or making a report online, quoting reference 43210435046.
