A telecoms company has come under fire over plans to install a 5G mast people have branded an “eyesore”.
CK Hutchison Networks (UK) Ltd has submitted to Bucks Council on behalf of Hutchison 3G UK Ltd an application relating to the corner of Rose Avenue and Ashfield Way, in Hazlemere.
Plans detail the ‘installation of a 15-metre steel and green 5G monopole, supporting six antennas’.
There will also be equipment cabinets.

Hutchison 3G will “upgrade its network” and “provide 5G coverage to the local area” as a result.
CK Hutchison confirmed it had consulted the local community about the proposal.

However, one neighbour who lives ‘right next to the proposed site’, claimed: “I have not received any letters or news about a new monopole.”
Adding: “Its siting is terrible and needs to be reconsidered.”
Another objector branded it “a complete eyesore”.
While yet another wrote: “It will look so unsightly and ruin the overall look of the street.”
Since the application was received on August 20, more than 100 objections have been raised.
Steve Baker MP said he had been contacted by residents, adding: “I believe good mobile connectivity is important for people living locally, but I know some people have concerns the monopole will be sited in a residential area.
“I would be grateful if you could please consider what steps might be taken to secure the widest possible public consent.”
The applicant is now awaiting a decision from Bucks Council.
