Months of roadworks to turn a High Wycombe roundabout into a traffic light-controlled junction are finally over.
Drivers have had to deal with the frustration of roadworks since January as Buckinghamshire Council overhauls the Crest Road and John Hall Way junction.
With work now finished and the junction fully open, we took a drive around to see what it was really like and recorded it with a dash-cam.
Buckinghamshire Council says the new "intelligent" traffic signal layout will pave the way for the planned arrival of a McDonald's drive thru and another Aldi supermarket at Cressex Island, which has been a wasteland for years but used to be the town’s park and ride.
The traffic lights are now on and there is set to be monitoring of their performance over the next few weeks so they can “get the best traffic flow possible” – particularly at peak times.
As well as turning the roundabout into traffic signals, there is also a new shared-use footpath and cycle path too.
