A GP surgery has had to cancel it's planned first flu clinic because of "road freight challenges".
In a message to patients, Bourne End and Wooburn Green Medical Centre apologised for having to cancel their walk-in flu clinic on Saturday, September 18, saying vaccine deliveries are being delayed.
It comes amid an ongoing HGV driver shortage that is causing major problems across the country.
Bourne End and Wooburn Green Medical Centre said: "We're very sorry to say that due to road freight challenges, our first flu clinic has unfortunately had to be postponed until further notice.
"We will let you know as soon as we have the delivery and when the new date will be.
"We are very disappointed to have to deliver this news and we hope to be able to schedule a new date very soon.
"Thank you for your continued patience and understanding through an unforeseen circumstance."
The lack of HGV drivers has caused huge issues with things like council bin collections in recent weeks.
It comes following an apparent exodus of drivers from EU countries, who returned to the continent during the coronavirus pandemic and remained there.
There is also reportedly a huge backlog of drivers waiting to take their HGV tests.
