After a year’s delay, stand-up comedian Seann Walsh is back on tour with his show Back From The Bed - and is bringing it to Chesham this autumn.

The observational comic, who has appeared on the likes of ‘Live At The Apollo’, ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’ and ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’, will take centre stage at The Elgiva on Thursday September 30.

The show was called ‘Same Again?’ but after a nightmare 2020, Seann said it “felt a bit triggering” to call it that - so renamed it ‘Back from the Bed’.

He said: “Some of the material will be the same as I had always planned and some of it will be new because it will be difficult to avoid mentioning the last year in which millions of decent people tragically lost their lives to TikTok.

“The previous leg of this tour got a lot of standing ovations, which was pleasing.

“Either that or they were leaving early. Come along if you like me. I’d be confident enough to say come along if you’re on the fence.”

Within two years of his first comedy performance back in 2007, Brighton’s Seann became the winner of the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year.

Shortly after, other accolades included Chortle Best Breakthrough Act Nominee 2010 and Chortle Best Compere Nominee 2011.

Seann has starred in series 1-3 of The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV2), Netflix’s Flinch, Live At The Apollo (BBC2), Tonight at The London Palladium (ITV), Celebrity Juice (ITV2), Play To The Whistle (ITV), a team captain for Virtually Famous (C4), 8 Out of 10 Cats (C4), Alan Carr’s Chatty Man (C4), Hey Tracey! (ITV2), Comedians Solve World Problems (Comedy Central) and has made regular appearances on The Jonathan Ross Show.

He appeared in Dave Channel’s Campaign Against Living Miserably and is an ambassador for the CALM charity.

He also hosts the podcast What’s Upset You Now? alongside Paul McCaffrey.

The 35-year-old has been described as “unquestionably the best observational comic of his generation” by The Guardian and “one of the most entertaining observational comics on the block” by The Independent.

He made headlines back in 2018 when he was pictured kissing his married Strictly Come Dancing dance partner, Katya Jones, while he was himself in a relationship and has said he suffered panic attacks following the backlash.

While admitting his passion for comedy waned in the wake of the controversy, Seann is back on form with ‘Back from the Bed’.

He will bring the show to The Elgiva in Chesham on September 30 and the Kenton Theatre in Henley on February 25, 2022.
