Running drugs empires, sexually assaulting vulnerable women and stealing from the elderly.
All these crimes and more have been committed by criminals operating in Bucks who were jailed in August.
Here is what they have done and how long they will serve.
15 people behind one of Aylesbury’s biggest drugs lines
A total of 15 offenders were locked up for a combined total of 50 years for drugs supply offences they committed in Aylesbury.
The drugs line, known as the ‘Khan Line’, saw dealers travel to Aylesbury on almost a daily basis to sell drugs.
As the organised crime group grew, it started to employ locals, and it became the biggest supplier of crack cocaine and heroin in the area, contacting over 200 customers regularly.

The following defendants pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply crack cocaine and heroin in Aylesbury between July 2019 and June 2020, and were sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on August 3:
- Basharat Mohammed, 27, of Charles Road, Birmingham played a significant role in establishing and expanding the line. He was sentenced to 6 years 2 months’ imprisonment
- Omar Ali, 29, of Burlington Road, Birmingham, played a significant role in sourcing and packaging the drugs. He was sentenced to 5 years 4 months’ imprisonment.
- Kamraan Ali, 25, of Burlington Road, Birmingham, played a significant role in the OCG’s activities in Birmingham and Aylesbury. He was sentenced to 5 years 8 months’ imprisonment.
- Gulam Tariq, 20, of Penn Road, Aylesbury, initially began working for the line as a street dealer and later grew to manage the day-to-day running of the line in Aylesbury. He was sentenced to 5 years’ imprisonment.
- Mohammed Wasim, 19, of Thrasher Road, Aylesbury was sentenced to 3 years 9 months’ imprisonment.
- Mohammed Rafiq, 24, of Mansel Road, Birmingham was sentenced to 4 years 8 months’ imprisonment.
- Ayaz Khan, 26, of Somerville Road, Birmingham was sentenced to 4 years 6 months’ imprisonment.
- Luke Stratfull, 31, of Buckingham Road, Aylesbury was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment.
- Mohammed Aftab, 39, of Cottesloe Road, Aylesbury was sentenced to 1 year 3 months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years.
Two others were also sentenced on for alternative convictions: Two individuals were also sentenced on Tuesday (3/8) for alternative convictions:
- Liaqat Khan, 29, of Farmer Road, Birmingham, was convicted for being concerned in the supply of heroin on the 11 June and was sentenced to 1 year 6 months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years.
- Dominic Wood, 44, of Atlanta Way, Aylesbury, was convicted for permitting his premises to be used for the supply of drugs. He was sentenced to 1 year 6 months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years.
And four other people involved in the criminal group all previously pleaded guilty and were convicted and sentenced:
- Ubaid Rahman, 21, of Cottesloe Road, Aylesbury was convicted for being in possession of cocaine and heroin with intent to supply on August 22 2019. On September 25 2019, at Aylesbury Crown Court, he was sentenced to 2 years’ imprisonment.
- Gary Moore and Tina Moore, both 45, of Hamble Drive, Aylesbury, were convicted of being in possession of crack cocaine and heroin with intent to supply on February 20 2020 and May 12 2020. On July 1 2020, at Aylesbury Crown Court, they were each sentenced to a total of 2 years 4 months’ imprisonment.
- Frederick Kirkland, 42, of Somerville Way, Aylesbury, was convicted for being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin on May 3 2020. On July 8 2021, at Aylesbury Crown Court, he was sentenced to 2 years’ imprisonment.
Dennis Thurlbeck
This “spiritual healer” manipulated his female victims into believing that he could heal them by sexually touching them.
Thurlbeck, of The Pastures in High Wycombe, once told a woman she was “cursed” to convince her to get healed.

The 63-year-old sexually assaulted four women in Slough between 2017 and 2019, Reading Crown Court heard.
He was sentenced to two years and five months on August 16. He was also given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.
Ansar and Ajmal Akram
The brothers Akram ran a drugs empire that operated in Bucks as well as all around the country, supplying illegal substances to organised crime groups.
The duo, who are from Hemel Hempstead, were sentenced to a combined 29 years in prison at St Albans Crown Court in August.

Ringleader Ansar Akram, aged 34, got 15 years behind bars after he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine and possession of criminal property.
Meanwhile, younger brother Ajmal Akram, aged 30, was locked up for 14 years after he was found guilty by a jury of the same charges.
Mohammed Dilbar Shabab
Shabab was jailed for more than six years after he was caught running away from a property in Chesham which police had discovered drugs in.
The 26-year-old, of Cowper Road, pleaded not guilty to being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, but a jury found him to be guilty at Aylesbury Crown Court on August 12.

He had also admitted to a further count of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs.
Between August 2018 and November 2019, Shabab was involved in supplying drugs in Chesham, and after police got into his phones, they found messages offering to supply illegal drugs.
Following his trial, he was locked up for six years and six months.
Lewis Willet
This dishonest thief stole from two older women while pretending he was doing building work on their homes.
Willett, of Pleasant Place in Surrey, was caught in the kitchen of a woman in her 60s in Buckingham. When she asked him to leave, he insisted he was there to do work in her garden.

After he had left, she noticed her husband’s wallet had been stolen.
On another occasion, he knocked on the door of a woman in her 70s and entered her home, telling her he would do building work.
Scared he would return to the house, the woman gave Willett her debit card and he withdrew £300 from a nearby cash machine.
He was sentenced to three years in prison at Oxford Crown Court on August 9.
