We’re in High Wycombe for Then and Now this week.
This first photo was taken March 1938 and is looking south west towards the factory building of James Cox and Son Ltd, which had been recently sold by Raffety at the junction of Westbourne Street and Oxford Road, High Wycombe.
This junction has seen huge changes over the years - there’s now a roundabout that was built as part of the controversial 'alternative route' and an Aldi.

This shot, from around 1900, shows the houses on the southern side of the High Street, including number 30.
These historic buildings are still here now and number 30 is Grade II* listed. These buildings are mostly offices now.
The road also has a lot more street furniture now - like bus stops, bins and bollards!
