Tom Kerridge has been handed an 'outstanding industry contribution' award by the National Restaurant Awards 2021 for his work with Meals for Marlow.

Meals from Marlow was created to provide support for key workers and those in need both in Marlow and surrounding towns during the pandemic.

After running fundraisers such as Marlow's Quiet Night In which featured Russel Brand and Chris Evans, the scheme has so far provided over 100,000 meals and raised over £175,000.

The project is now being formalised as a permanent charity to provide support for those in need in the region

Tom Kerridge said on social media: "We have reached our target and that is incredible.

"All of you are amazing the volunteers, the people that are cooking, the guys that labelling and everyone single person that has donated every pound up to the thousands.

"That means we are feeding 75,000 meals to front-line NHS workers, the vulnerable and the needy who are all in this area.

"What a brilliant thing to be a part of and all of you guys are just fantastic."

The cause now plans to continue to work closely with local organisations and charities to ensure that the meals produced find their way to those most in need, relying on our partners' experience and expertise to support our neighbours each and every week.
