A huge power cut affected parts of High Wycombe, Hazlemere, Marlow, Bourne End and surrounding areas this evening.
Many residents in the area lost power at around 8.05pm this evening and even mobile signal was affected for many people, leaving them unable to even report the power cut to SSE.
SSE apologised for the power cut, saying engineers were "working hard to restore power" and thanked residents for their patience. All power has now been restored, they confirmed.
The power cut affected HP and SL postcodes.
We're sorry for the #POWERCUT in #BISHAM, #COOKHAM, #MARLOW, and the surrounding areas.

In the Wooburn Green area, power was restored after around half an hour, with traffic lights, street lights and lights inside people's homes returning at around 8.40pm.
Any idea when the power will be back in the South Bucks area? The whole town is out and we haven’t any 3/4 G nor signal? @ssencommunity

Suffering here with low batt😭😭😭😭
The power outage caused a number of alarms on commercial buildings to go off and meant drivers approaching traffic light controlled junctions had to be extra careful.
The Bucks Free Press has asked SSE to confirm the cause of the power cut.
