A 36-year-old man has received a suspended prison sentence and has had to pay a fine of just under £3,000, after he was twice caught fly-tipping on secret surveillance cameras.
Jamie Lee Hancey, of Rokesby Road, Slough, was sentenced by High Wycombe Magistrates Court on August 4, 2021, following a trial on July 16, 2021, where he was convicted of fly-tipping at Crow Piece Lane, Burnham on two separate occasions on February 2 and 10, 2020.
A surveillance camera captured images of mixed wastes being dumped at Crow Piece Lane, with the vehicle that was used to carry out the crimes was used by Hancey as the only driver.

Hancy was subsequently interviewed under caution by council investigators, but he denied dumping the waste.
He then admitted he had been at the location, but said he had either been walking his dog or smoking a cigarette with a friend.
Hancy also failed to attend several court hearings and the trial itself.
The court also heard that Buckinghamshire Council carries out regular surveillance against fly-tipping offences in the wider Burnham area including at Crow Piece Lane.

Magistrates imprisoned Hancey for 26 weeks for dumping the waste but suspended the sentence for 18 months.
He was also ordered to pay clean-up, investigation, and legal costs of £2,800 and a victim surcharge of £122 – making a total of £2,922.
Peter Strachan, Cabinet Member for Climate Change and Environment said: “Suspended prison sentences are one of the more serious penalties that can be handed out for those who break the law by fly-tipping.

“This man is left in no doubt as to what will happen if he re-offends, with a 26-week prison sentence awaiting any further dumping by him.
"Buckinghamshire Council has a zero-tolerance policy against fly-tipping and this case underlines what that means to those who dump waste illegally.”
