Residents in a civil parish near Aylesbury have expressed their anger after a peregrine falcon was found dead.
In the morning of Thursday, August 5, Wildlife Crime Officers from Thames Valley Police visited Quainton, after they were told that the bird had reportedly been shot.
In a brief Facebook post that was published by Thames Valley Police Aylesbury Vale on the same day, they said: “This morning, Wildlife Crime Officers have been out to a report of a peregrine falcon having been shot near Quainton.

“Peregrines are a schedule one bird, meaning you can receive a fine of up to £5,000 for killing one in this way.”
Many residents took to social media to share their anger, with Paul Gibbs saying: “Should be a prison sentence and a massive fine.
"Send a message that this will not be tolerated any longer.”
