Wycombe Wanderers admitted that there were 'learning curves' for the operational team after a backlog of traffic caused disruption to 1-0 victory over Leicester City on Wednesday night.

The kick-off was pushed back 15 minutes because of the traffic problem around the ground with fans seen finding their seats after the game started.

A statement put out by the club says the problem is being resolved as a matter of priority before the season opener at Adams Park against Accrington Stanley this Saturday.

The main change sees fans needing to pre-book their parking spaces in the upper field, with no sales available on the day of the game with the lower tier remaining fully booked for the whole season.

This move means no payments will need to be taken and removes the frustration of their being no availability on the day of the game.

Availability of the upper-tier car park passes will generally be available at least a week ahead of the game, up until noon on the day before, and could vary on a game-by-game basis.

The club also named three other alternative solutions that are being worked on for ways fans can travel to Adams Park.

First is the new park and ride scheme from West Wycombe which will be free for all users for a trial period.

The service will run regular shuttles to and from Adams Park, before and after each home game.

Developments of the Arriva bus service that links the Cressex park and ride, bus station and rail station, are also being finalised.

And finally, the Chairboys are aiming to build relationships with sites along Hillbottom Road that can accommodate vehicles on matchdays.
