Calls have sounded to cut the speed limit on a residential road after a beloved pet was killed.
A petition calling for speeding measures on Barnards Hill and Terrington Hill in Marlow is gaining support, after “a few people” experienced pet loss due to ‘reckless driving’.
Locals hope Bucks Council will put up signage or lower the speed limit on both roads “to stop people using the through-road as a racetrack”.

One petitioner whose cat was killed said other residents had suffered similar losses.
They also claimed the driver responsible “did not stop”.
“We the undersigned petition the council to put in a ‘slow’ sign or lower the speed limit on Barnards Hill and Terrington Hill to stop people using the through-road as a racetrack – it is a residential area,” they wrote.

“Our cat recently got killed by a reckless driver driving too fast down Barnards Hill and Terrington Hill – the driver did not stop.
“It turns out quite a few people have experienced the same and have also noticed drivers who use this road as a racetrack.
“It would be really great to get drivers to slow down on this road.”
The petition ends on August 25.
