THE main Nostalgia page this week features the early history of what was the first secondary modern school to be built in High Wycombe, Mill End Senior School.
It opened its doors on May 31, 1937, one entrance for girls and another for boys.
Once inside nearly a thousand pupils would have gazed in wonder at the modern facilities the school offered.
These included two gymnasia with showers, and radios. Here we show pictures of the school, and some of the pupils and teachers from those early days.
It would be fantastic to hear from some of those people who attended Mill End in the late 1930s and in the 1940s.
They would be in their 90s now, but must have some wonderful memories of the school.
