A homeless man who stole wallets, an iPhone and a watch from cars parked at a High Wycombe petrol station has admitted his guilt.

Appearing at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court today (Friday) Aaron O’Donovan, aged 35, pleaded guilty to two counts of theft from a motor vehicle.

The court heard how O’Donovan, of no fixed abode and who was homeless at the time, went on a small spree of thefts from cars parked at the Shell petrol station in Marlow Road on January 7, 2020.

Prosecutor Dana Patel told the court how O’Donovan stole from two cars – taking a black Armani wallet, bank cards, and an ID card, all worth £150, from the first.

From the second vehicle, O’Donovan took an iPhone, black leather wallet, bank cards, an iPhone and an Emporio Armani watch, worth £180.

Appearing at court from prison via a video link, O’Donovan admitted both of the charges.

Defence lawyer Mr Ahmed told the magistrates the facts of the case were “very basic”.

Having admitted his guilt, O’Donovan will be sentenced by Magistrates’ early next year and has been granted bail until then.
