This week the Town Hall in Queen Victoria Road, High Wycombe, features in the main Nostalgia article as being the location of the town’s main British Restaurant during the second world war and for a few years afterwards.
By the early 1950s it was back to being the main social hub of the town, with all sorts of events and activities taking place there.
I even remember my Dad taking me to a boxing tournament there, not that I have ever been particularly interested in boxing!
A selection of these activities is shown here.
What memories do you have of the Town Hall in the 1950 and 60s? I’d love to hear from you at deweymiked@aol.com, or by phone 01494 755070.
