The searing weekend heat did not deter the hundreds of runners who helped raise thousands of pounds for charity at the Hell-Fire Half Marathon and 10k.
Starting and finishing at Adams Park - home of Wycombe Wanderers - keen runners battled the punishing heat to take on the iconic charity runs organised by the Handy Cross Runners on Sunday, July 18.
The gruelling race took them through the breathtaking West Wycombe Park before heading to the picturesque Wheeler End and Bolter End and then Frieth, before turning back towards Lane End and West Wycombe.
The route takes in stunning views of the Chilterns, including the famous Golden Ball and Dashwood Mausoleum before a stadium finish.
With the races sadly cancelled last year because of Covid-19, participants were glad to get back out on the trail despite the difficult running temperatures.
One runner, Steve Higgins, even completed the race wearing an Incredible Hulk costume - crossing the half marathon finishing line in a time of four hours and 16 minutes.
The half marathon winner was Liam Busby of Wycombe Phoenix Harriers with a time of one hour and 21 minutes and 25 seconds, while the 10k winner was Ryoki Arimoto in 42 minutes, seven seconds.
The first female half marathon runner across the line was Sarah Pearson with a time of one hour and 49 minutes, while the first female 10k runner was Sarah Quantrill in 48 minutes and 26 seconds.
All proceeds will go to Rennie Grove Hospice Care.
