Aylesbury-born striker Ellen White scored a brace for Team GB, as they defeated Chile 2-0 in their opening match at this year's Olympics.
White, who attended the Grange School in the town, bagged the double in her side's Group E fixture of the women's football in Sapporo, Japan.
The Manchester City forward got her first goal on 18 minutes with a short-range left-footed strike, when Lauren Hemp nodded back Lucy Bronze's deep cross.
Her first strike came eight minutes after she had a goal correctly disallowed for offside.
Team GB dominated the contest and with 17 minutes left, White sealed the victory when she volleyed in Bronze's cross from six yards.
These were her first goals for Team GB, after the forward failed to score in any of her appearances at London 2012.
Former Team GB and England international Fara Williams revealed that she was delighted to see White get off to a goalscoring start at the Games.
She told the PA news agency: "I played with Ellen in 2012 and back then she wasn't somebody who was a regular starter in that team.

"So for her to start the game today and get off the mark - she wasn't able to score in 2012 - she'll be delighted with that.
"We all know what Ellen can do and certainly at international level she's shown over the years that she is a proven goalscorer."
