A Non League football club has revealed that a number of their players have tested positive for Covid-19.
Risborough Rangers confirmed the news on Wednesday, July 21, four days after the Reds defeated the Rushden & Diamonds U21 side 9-1 at the B.E.P Stadium.
Following their resounding win in the friendly match on Saturday afternoon, seven of the Rangers players have tested positive for Covid-19, and they are currently self-isolating.
The club also revealed that others at the club ‘has taken lateral flow tests and followed up with appointed PCR tests where the lateral flow tests have indicated positive.’

This has resulted in the club’s Allied Counties youth team’s fixture against Leighton Town u18s on Thursday, July 22 and their trip to Jersey has been postponed.
The club’s AGM, which was due to take place on Monday, July 26 has been cancelled, whilst their friendly match versus Thame United has been pushed back to Thursday, July 29.
It was originally due to be played on Tuesday, July 27.

An extract from their statement reads: “All the committee and club management have tested negative and will undertake a further test at the end of this week.
“To this effect, all football activities have been suspended while the B.E.P. Stadium is deep cleaned and the affected players self-isolate.
“All relevant parties have been consulted and are aware of the situation. Risborough Rangers Football Club would also like to apologise for any inconveniences caused.”
