A BMW driver from Denham who was caught speeding at nearly 80mph in a 40mph zone has been slapped with a £1,000 fine.

Daljit Rai, aged 45, of Lower Road in Higher Denham was snapped on a speed camera going at 77mph on the A412 in Wexham, which has a 40mph speed limit.

Appearing at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on June 15, Rai was found guilty of speeding and fined £1,000. He will also have to pay £185 costs.

The court heard how he was driving a BMW M4 at the time.

Rai has also been banned from driving for 55 days for his offence.
