Transport chiefs have said that the rest of Marlow Bridge will be painted “soon” a year after phase one was completed.
Local residents branded the bridge a “disgrace” as the railings on the footpath have begun to rust with mould starting to grow.
It was wondered by residents why the middle section of the bridge had been painted but not the railings.

The council confirmed that this work was completed under phase one of the paintwork with the rest of the bridge coming under phase two.
Buckinghamshire Council Cabinet Member for Transport Steven Broadbent said: “We did phase 1 of Marlow Bridge painting works last summer, painting the chains, hangers and metal kerbs.
“The parapets and railings along the edges of the footway make up the second phase of painting works, and we hope to finalise the dates for this work soon.”
There have also been worries that the planks on the footpath are becoming a potential hazard
One person said: “The foot planks are rising up, I almost tripped up one of them today.”
Earlier this year the bridge came under scrutiny as new bollards were installed in a bid to prevent HGVs from crossing the iconic bridge.
A campaign was launched to remove the new width restrictions only a few weeks after being fitted.
