A paedophile who was working as a football coach in Aylesbury has been warned he faces jail time after he admitted owning and distributing sexual images of children.
A man of “previous good character”, the horrendous crimes of Marc Kenny shocked the people he worked with at Aylesbury Town Corinthians FC, the youth football club where he worked as a coach, welfare officer and director.
Before his arrest in October 2020, Kenny had been living another life on the internet, messaging with other paedophiles on messaging apps Kik and Wickr.
At a hearing at Aylesbury Crown Court today (Friday), the court heard how Kenny’s sick behaviour eventually caught up with him when law enforcement started to track his online activity.
How was Kenny caught?
Hearing from prosecutor Nigel Ogborne, Aylesbury Crown Court heard that when the National Crime Agency started investigating Kenny, the only thing they knew about him was his Kik username – ‘BeesDad09’.
The court heard how Kenny had a collection of nearly 500 child sex images and videos and would fantasise with other paedophiles about having sexual relations with young girls on the messaging apps.
Investigators had found messages between Kenny and other users where he would fantasise about having sexual relations with young girls, and discuss child abuse with others.
On the chat app Wickr, Kenny would tell other users made-up stories of how he had sexually abused children – something investigators eventually learned never happened, but were his own sick fantasies.
After tracking ‘BeesDad09’ the National Crime Agency were able to work out his IP address, email address, phone number, and home address – and that his name was really Marc Kenny, a 45-year-old man from Aylesbury.
On October 29, 2020, the NCA searched Kenny’s home – he was in bed at the time - and when they found naked images of children on his phone, they arrested him.
After his arrest, Kenny admitted his crimes and told the officers he had been offending for the past nine months.
During a police interview, he told officers that he was “sexually attracted to girls as young as eight years old.”
Describing what took place when Kenny was arrested, Mr Ogborne said: “He offered his phone, he admitted that he had been on Kik and Wickr discussing child sexual abuse, but said it was all a fantasy.”

Later on, Kenny came clean and admitted everything that he had done.
Kenny is due before the judge at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday, August 16, where he will be sentenced for his crimes.
