A driver has been caught going at more than 100mph on a stretch of the M40 that was closed the day before because of a serious collision.
Thames Valley Police’s road policing officers recorded a driver going at 101mph between junction 3 and 2 on the M40 today, barely 24 hours after a horrific crash on the same stretch saw two people taken to hospital.
A car was reported to have collided with the central reservation in yesterday’s incident, but there is no suggestion that the vehicle was speeding.

Today on social media, TVP Roads Policing shared an image of the 101mph speed gun reading and warned drivers to be careful, and said that the driver in question has been reported to the courts.
The post said: “A car caught our eyes en-route back to base on the same stretch of M40 motorway that was closed yesterday for a serious collision.
“Speed limits must be respected to avoid being a danger to yourself and others.”
