This week, we have unearthed pictures of Lane End in the 1930s and 60s.
This first photo, from around 1930, looks south east from the junction with The Row of both sides of the High Street.
The road looks almost unrecognisable today, with many buildings now completely different.

This second picture is from the 1960s of the south-east side of Church Street near the crossroads, showing the shops in Lane End.
The shops have changed but the buildings still look familiar.
