There are plenty of special ways to treat dad this Father’s Day around Bucks.
From an unforgettable day out on a vintage steam train to an afternoon tea in the heart of the Chilterns, there are no end of ways to spoil the special man in your life on June 20.
Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway
If your father is a train enthusiast, why not take him aboard a vintage steam train for an amazing day out on Sunday? The 87-year-old GWR Steam Locomotive No. 6412 will be providing steam power on the steam-hauled trains until the end of the 2021 season and is a much-loved locomotive with visitors and volunteers alike.
The train journey will take you and dad through the Chilterns foothills to see their incredible panorama unfold, while reserved seats can be either in a private compartment or at a socially distanced reserved table in open-plan saloons.

Unwind in the heart of the Chilterns with an afternoon tea at The Grange restaurant. Based in the grounds of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People charity in Saunderton, the restaurant offers a daily afternoon tea from 2-3.45pm, which includes a choice of classic, sparkling or gin and tonic.
Take dad out for some fresh air and treat him to a relaxing afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings. Up to six people, or two households, are currently allowed to sit together indoors.
Father’s Day ‘Extended’ at Missenden Abbey
Already have plans for Sunday? Worry not, Missenden Abbey is hosting an ‘extended’ Father’s Day experience on June 22 from 5-11pm.
Celebrate a belated Father’s Day and watch England vs Czech Republic in the Euros on the big screen in the grounds the historic abbey on Tuesday.
Before the game starts at 8pm, you can have a go at their pitch and putt, enjoy delicious food and refreshments or have a kick about and see who can score the most goals. Dad will also have the chance to win the ultimate barbecue kit.

There is plenty to do and see including seven little towns stuck in a 1930s timewarp. There is also the Gauge One model railway, touted as a “true highlight” of a visit to the attraction, as well as the well-kept gardens and a miniature railway you can ride on.
Wendover Woods
If your dad is an adrenalin junkie, get him to tackle one of the high rope courses at Wendover Woods.
Wendover Woods has two challenges – a treetop challenge which features an optional ‘extreme route’ with circuits to force you or dad out of your comfort zone, and the treetop adventure, which is touted as one of their one hardest adventure courses.
With 429-metres of high rope crossings and a cracking 85-metre zip wire finale, it’s sure to get the heart pumping.
