A man was arrested after police swooped on a High Wycombe road to reports that someone was carrying a shotgun. 

Police were called to Bedder Road just after 5.30pm on Tuesday, June 1, with the police helicopter also hovering overhead. 

Officers descended on the road after receiving reports that a man was seen carrying a shotgun. 

Following a search, a 21-year-old man from High Wycombe was arrested on suspicion of possession of a shotgun without a certificate, possession of a controlled drug of class A and possession of a controlled drug of class B.

He has since been released under investigation.
