A jogger who tried to intervene in an argument between a man and a woman was attacked and injured with a pen knife in Amersham.
Police have put together an e-fit following the upsetting incident in Rodgers Wood in Amersham, adjacent to the A413 and A355.
At 10.30am on Sunday (May 23), a woman aged in her thirties was jogging when she came across a man and a woman who were having an argument.
She then saw the man grab the woman’s throat and tried to intervene.
The man threw an object towards her which hit her in the head.
The man then produced a pen knife, and then a minor scuffle led to the jogger suffering a cut to her hand, for which she did not need hospital treatment.
The man, depicted in the e-fit, is described as a white man, with short and dark coloured hair, of medium build.
He was dressed in a North Face rain jacket in a dark colour, believed to be black or navy.
He was also wearing hiking shoes.
Investigating officer, PC Ben Flaherty, of Amersham police station, said: “I am appealing for witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information relating to it.
“Anyone who has information on this, or thinks they recognise the person depicted in the E-fit, is please asked to report this matter online, or call 101. Please quote reference 43210222539 when making any reports.
“Alternatively, you can call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 for 100% anonymity.”
