UPDATE: Male pedestrian, 56, is killed in hit-and-run in High Wycombe

At least three ambulances and an air ambulance critical care unit were called to a High Wycombe road amid a "serious incident" last night. 

It is not clear what happened, but South Central Ambulance Service confirmed to the Bucks Free Press they sent "a number of ambulance resources" to Hughenden Avenue at around 10.30pm on Thursday night.

The road was reportedly cordoned off between Hughenden Boulevard and Telford Way for a number of hours.

Thames Valley Police has been contacted for more details about what happened.
