Four supermarket workers have been dubbed the ‘Asda Angels’ after they helped a 10-year-old girl in a Milton Keynes branch.
Lyndsay Toseland, Rachel Russell, Claire Horton and Viviane Modjom were given the nickname after a schoolgirl lost her birthday money to purchase a book in of the stores.
However, the group came to Adaya Lubega’s rescue, as they gave the child a £10 gift voucher so she get the book she wanted.

Adaya’s mum, Louanna took to Twitter to say: "My daughter was beside herself as she dropped £10 of her birthday money in the store and unable to buy her book.

“The Asda Angels came to the rescue and gave her a gift card so she could buy the book.

“I was absolutely blown away by their kindness."
Checkout runner Lyndsay was one of the first colleagues at the store to help Adaya.
She said: "I saw the girl go over to her mum who was at the checkouts.
“She was brave at first but then just burst into tears.
“I mentioned it through my headset to my colleagues and Claire, on checkouts, then asked the lady if everything was okay and she told her what had happened.

“I then walked the shop floor to look for the note, but couldn't find it."
Self-scan colleague Rachel then noticed Adaya was still crying, so asked her and Louanna to wait by the checkouts while the team got section leader Viviane.

Lyndsay said: "The mums in us all thought we should do a goodwill gesture for the girl.
“It was the right thing to do.
“We then gave the voucher to the girl that paid for her book.
“I told them there was another £6 left on there for her to use to buy the next one!
“They were so grateful.
“It's so sweet that she wanted to buy a book with it... I hope she enjoyed it."
The book Adaya purchased was Lemony Snicket's ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events.’
