Aylesbury MP Rob Butler has wished the town’s Muslims a happy Eid Mubarak.
The Conservative, who became the constituency’s representative in the 2019 General Election, spoke in a brief video that was shot outside the town’s Mosque on Havelock Street.
In the clip that was published on Facebook on May 13, he said: “I’d like to wish Eid Mubarak to all members of the Muslim community in the Aylesbury constituency.

"It’s a great pleasure to here at the Aylesbury Mosque today [May 13] to mark Eid al-Fitr with members of the community.
What Mr Butler said
I'd like to wish Eid Mubarak to everyone in the local Muslim community. It was a pleasure and privilege to visit Aylesbury Mosque today to mark the end of Ramadan, and I wish everyone celebrating a peaceful and blessed Eid al-Fitr.

“I know how hard this period of Ramadan has been with so many people unable to spend time with their friends and family in the way that they normally would because of the coronavirus restrictions.
“So I’d like to thank everybody for the sacrifices that they have made in recent weeks and hope that as infections fall, we can look forward to much happier times in the year ahead.”
Eid began in the evening of May 12 and finished in the evening of May 13.
