Tributes have poured in for a man who died in an incident on the M40 that closed off part of the motorway for over an hour.

The man in his 40s, from Beaconsfield, named locally as Stuart, sadly died after being involved in a crash with a vehicle on Tuesday (May 11) on the southbound carriageway.

Paramedics provided emergency care, but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

More than a dozen BFP readers and people who knew Stuart have paid tribute to him, with some of the messages suggesting he was a Tottenham Hotspur fan and a diver, and rode a motorcycle.

Christopher Moore said: “Stuart, I have known you all your life and will remember you forever throughout mine. May you now rest in peace. My thoughts are with all those you left behind.”

A reader who did not want to be named, wrote: “My dearest Stuart, I spent six years with you and there are moments that were difficult but how I wish I had I known how much sorrow was in your heart.

Another unnamed reader said: “You will be missed mate. Will miss the noise of your motorbike and you cleaning it off with a blower, as well as talking about that awful team of yours every day.
