New plans for a pizza restaurant and takeaway in Beaconsfield have been submitted to the council.
A Mr P Kalpakiotis wants to open the eatery in the Grade II-listed building at number 3 London End.
He is the owner of the popular pizza restaurant @homePizza in Gerrards Cross, which is rated highly on TripAdvisor and has 4.9-star reviews on Google.
According to the design and access statement, Mr Kalpakiotis is proposing a “similar model of restaurant and takeaway business” for the site, with one electric-only pizza oven custom built to fit into the unit.
The pizza oven would be freestanding and the flue would be designed to make use of the existing chimney in the building, “without the need for any intervention to historic fabric”.
The site is currently a shop unit in a parade of shops near the roundabout.

Initial plans suggest there would be five full-time and eight part-time employees, based on their experience in Gerrards Cross, with up to four delivery drivers available.
The business would be open from midday until 10pm everyday.
In the online document, chartered town planners Bell Cornwell, writing on behalf of the applicant, said they do not “expect any undue negative impact on the amenity of neighbouring residents as a result of the occupation of the unit” and no external alterations are proposed.
They added: “The proposals are entirely appropriate for this location and completelt in the spirit of changes to improve the vibrancy and vitality of local centres, enabling a viable business to occupy this unit in a characterful area of Beaconsfield where there is not a predominance or concentration of non-town centre uses.”

In a letter by surveyors Jaggard Macland, it was revealed there was an “interested party” wanting to open an Italian restaurant on the site but had to pull out after they found they were not able to have adequate bin storage at the rear of the site due to “only having right of access over the land”.
The surveyor added: “I believe that the risk involved with retail premises since the Covid-19 pandemic has deterred businesses of this nature taking a risk in High Street premises.”
