A woman who dumped a mattress at a village hall has been fined £400.
The woman from Amersham, who cannot be named for privacy reasons, left the mattress at Amersham Common Village Hall on April 4.
She was reportedly just minutes from the nearest recycling centre, where she could have disposed of the mattress for free.
She was issued with a £400 fixed penalty notice and given a £100 discount for early payment.
Bucks Council’s fly-tipping enforcement team tweeted: “#zerotolerance policy applies in Bucks #SCRAPflytipping.”
A Google search shows the Amersham Household Recycling Centre is around two miles away, or a four-minute drive, from the village hall.
