PLANS to overhaul an existing car sales centre in favour of a new showroom for “more expensive” vehicles have been submitted to the council.
Mr Rashid, of The Motoring Team, in London, has submitted to Bucks Council a planning application for The Motoring Team premises (formerly The Wild Rover pub), on Amersham Road, in Chesham.
Plans detail the construction of a new 366 sqm car showroom with an office mezzanine on the forecourt area.

The Motoring Team currently use the 660 sqm site as a car sales forecourt. There are offices on the ground floor and residential accommodation above.
The new build is “particularly for the more expensive cars”, according to a planning statement.
Permission to change the site from a public house (The Wild Rover) to a ‘car sales area’ was granted in 2016.

The site currently employs five full-time staff, but the new build will employ seven.
It proposed opening hours will be Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm, with the same hours on Saturdays. Sunday and Bank Holiday hours will be 11am-4pm.
The site is also within an area at risk of flooding, according to council documents. However, “drainage measures were installed as previously agreed with the council and these remain”.
Two existing parking spaces will be retained, with a third also made.

A design and access statement reads: “The application proposal to make more efficient use of land and premises clearly accords with the council’s Core Strategy policy.”
Bucks Council validated the online application on Thursday, April 29.
It is believed the application may have been submitted some time towards the end of March.
