Bucks has been home to some much-loved films but did you know that these five well-known movies had scenes in the county?

Take a look at the list below for some of Bucks’ best claims to fame.

The Imitation Game

The Imitation Game was filmed partly on location at Bletchley Park.

The Victorian manor house was used in World War Two as a hub for secret code-breaking operations and where Alan Turing, a British mathematician, cracked the Enigma Code.

Starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley, the film follows the journey of Turing who builds a machine with the help of his fellow mathematicians to decipher the German Enigma Code.

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

The Story of Robin Hood and his Merry Men was filmed at a number of places around Burnham Beeches.

Robin Hood’s ‘Sherwood Forest’ camp was built close to the film studio at Shepperton, about 50 yards from a public footpath in Burnham Beeches.

The film saw Kevin Costner as the legendary outlaw with Alan Rickman playing his counterpart The Sheriff of Nottingham.

It was reported by walkers that arrows were found stuck in trees many years later.

Cinderella

Cliveden House features briefly in the 2015 Disney Cinderella film.

As the palace timepiece counts down the fateful strokes to midnight, the glittering gold face is that of the clock tower at Cliveden.

Lily James plays the Disney princess who, after the untimely death of her father, is troubled by her stepmother and stepsisters.

However, her life changes forever after dancing with a charming stranger at the Royal Ball.

Harry Potter

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 both had scenes filmed in Buckinghamshire. 

In the Goblet of Fire, the wood in which Hagrid shows Harry the dragons in their crates before the first challenge is Black Park.

Black Park in Wexham is made up of 618 acres and its large, relatively flat land has made it an excellent location with Harry Potter's forbidden forest was set there.

The Deathly Hallows sees the wizards manage to grab one of horcruxes as there’s a narrow escape to the woods.

This woodland is Burnham Beeches with its an area of ancient woodland surprisingly owned by the City of London, which bought the land in 1880 to save it from residential developers.

James Bond: Spectre 

Spectre is the 24th James Bond film and was shot in part at Pinewood Studios, home to 22 out of the 24 Bond films.

Pinewood Studios is a British film and television studio located in the village of Iver Heath.

It is the fourth Bond film to feature Daniel Craig and sees the secret 007 agent receive an obscure message from M about a sinister organisation, 'SPECTRE'.
