A man has been arrested after a charity worker died in Aylesbury prompting a murder investigation.
A 34-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested in the early hours of this morning (April 27) on suspicion of murder.
It comes after members of the public called 999 to report an assault on the Grand Union Canal near Broughton at about 12.20pm yesterday (April 26).
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the man, who it emerged today was a worker at charity Canal and River Trust, sadly died at the scene after being found with serious injuries.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by family liaison officers.
A 41-year-old woman from Birmingham was arrested yesterday (April 26) on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.
Police are urging anyone with information or who saw what happened to call 101, quoting investigation reference number 845 (26/4), or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
