The people of Aylesbury have reacted to news that another murder investigation has been launched in the town.
In the same month that a 76-year-old man was allegedly killed in Wendover, at around 12.20pm on Monday, April 26, members of the public contacted the emergency services to report an assault on the Grand Union Canal in Broughton.
After the paramedics and police arrived, and despite their best efforts, a man, who was a charity worker, died at the scene.

Following the sad news, Thames Valley Police have closed off the car park on Broughton Bridge, as well as parts of the path leading up to the crossing, whilst also confirming that a woman has been arrested.
They also confirmed that another person has been arrested for the crime.
The crime happened near Bridge 14 on the Grand Union Canal and on April 27, numerous police vans, cars, and officers were seen investigating the area.
There was also a forensic tent near the bridge.
Despite the heavy police presence, some parts of the path near the canal are still accessible for cyclists and dog walkers.
Speaking to a pedestrian who was near the scene on the morning of April 27, she said: “I walked along here to Bridge Nine on Saturday, sometimes on my own or with my friends so it is not very good at all.

“I used to walk in another place in Aylesbury but stopped when there was a murder there, so I started to come here.
“Where is it safe?”
A dog walker who was near the area added: “I don’t know what happened, but we’ve been told we can’t go near the bridge as it has been closed off for pedestrians/dog walkers.
“It’s not good to hear that something like this has happened so close to where we live in Broughton."
Another said: “This is incredibly sad.
“I walk along this path all the time so to hear and know that a crime as serious as this has happened in this area is very scary.
“My heart goes out to the people who are affected.”

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Andy Shearwood, of the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit, said: “The canal path is a very popular leisure route for walkers, runners, and cyclists, especially on a sunny day like today.
“Therefore, I would appeal to anyone who was in the area, who saw or heard anything unusual to contact the force.
“If you would prefer, alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers via their website or on 0800 555 111 and remain anonymous.”
