A woman from Aylesbury was one of five people to appear in court following a protest at the site of a new prison being built in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
Ella Russell, 21, was charged with aggravated trespass after she was one of five who were arrested at the site of HMP Five Wells on Tuesday, April 20.
She appeared before Northampton Magistrates’ Court today [Thursday, April 22].

She, along with Elena Rose Mann, 20, of no fixed address, Ross Monaghan, 37, Barnby Moor, Nottinghamshire, and Arune Hopestone, 20, Oxfordshire, were all charged with aggravated trespass after being arrested at the site on April 20.

A fifth person, Megan Elizabeth Yates, 27, of no fixed address, was also arrested at the protest and has been charged with two counts of common assault.
This is in relation to allegedly coughing at site workers and stating she had Covid-19.
They were all released on conditional bail and will next appear at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday June 16.
