A regeneration project that will see 194 new homes built in favour of some dilapidated flats has been approved.
Bucks Council has permitted Red Kite Community Housing to deliver a scheme of affordable homes off Pettifer Way, Longland Way and Chairborough Road, in Castlefield, High Wycombe, also known as the ‘star blocks’.
The regeneration project has arrived after years of discussions and spiralling costs.

Parking spaces, a new play area, and a public open space are also planned.
Works could get underway before the end of the year.

The plans were first mooted back in 2011 when Red Kite took over Wycombe District Council’s housing stock.
Red Kite said it is yet to ‘complete the procurement process for a contractor’, but that it hopes to be on site by the end of 2021, or early next year.
