This is what you have been writing to us about this week.
I would like to applaud the initiative to encourage the growth of a proper ‘food scene’ in High Wycombe by the partial pedestrianisation of the High Street and Pauls Row on some days.
This should help to invigorate the area and make it more of a place to be.
Could I perhaps throw another proposal out there? Walking across Frogmoor in recent years, I have often speculated about how such a wonderful open space would be used in other European countries.
So, how about turning it into a ‘food court’?
The council could provide tables and chairs – or maybe fixed benches – and even awnings, and food vendors would be invited to set up shop on the periphery.
There are a number of disused shops that could be used but, in addition, we could set up the little huts that are used for German Christmas markets, or vendors could bring their own vans along; rather like the ‘food cart’ scene in Portland, Oregon.
